Saffolalife #ProtectHerHeart initiative for a healthy heart!

I thank Saffolalife and Blogadda for coming up with this unique opportunity and make us husbands think about our wives and the things they do for us in our day-to-day life. The wives of each household are a major backbone of a family and while some women are only housewives, some are working women. The women of our house do many things to keep the house happy and for them, the family comes first and then comes their own health. It's our time to take care of their health and take the Saffolalife pledge to keep them fit and healthy.

I took the Weight-Heart Test at www.saffolalife.com and I entered my spouse's details like her weight, age and waist details. The result showed that according to my wive's weight and height, my wife is overweight as she has a BMI of 25.38. Her waist circumference is 2 inches over the normal limit of 35 inches and hence that needs to be reduced. I thank Saffola for providing this information and now it's my responsibility that I take care of her diet and make her exercise and reduce the extra fat.

The new advertisement of Saffola makes us realize that 2 out of 4 women have a risk of heart problems which is a major concern. I being a working man and my wife being a housewife, we barely used to get time to spend with each other and our major discussions used to be about our family matters and problems. But after watching the advertisement and reading the new activity of Blogadda, I made my wife spend few moments with me and we discussed about her diet and food plan. It came to me as a surprise that she had actually been eating a lot of oily stuff as we had been ordering pizzas and making pakoras at home since few weeks. I decided to cut down these food items and make the servants cook only vegetables mainly green vegetables and instead of sweets, we will be having soups and fruit juices to keep our entire family, especially my wife healthy and fit.

Saffolalife has specified that walking helps us to stay fit and healthy and hence I will be accompanying my wife to a 30 minute walk every alternate day during the week and on weekends, we'll have a 45 minute walk to compensate for the two days during the week. Along with this, I'll also make sure that we join a gym and work out together. My wife is quite lazy to exercise all by herself and this would be more of a way to spend time and stay fit for both of us. The diet also would be planned by our doctor and I'll make sure she strictly follows it during the week. All in all, it will be my way of expressing my love and care for her and thanks to Saffola for giving me this opportunity.

Paint me wild! Makeover your home with the #PaintFinder! -- A blogadda initiative

I loved the room designs shown on the Bedbathmore.com website and the colors made the room look delightful and exotic. There were so many colors and themes to choose from but the one that appealed me and matched my personality was the AGED BEIGE theme.

Theme: The Aged Beige theme makes me bring back olden memories of the old and historical heritages that existed 100-200 years back. Me being inquisitive and a lover of historical monuments couldn't stop myself from admiring the look and the depth of the of the beige color makes the room look lit up and it takes me back to the ancient century where the rooms were elegant and classy. As there's a saying "Old is gold", this theme gives me the exact feeling.

The website had different rooms and the design of each room was unique and extravagant. My choices were as follows:

1. My dream dining hall can be seen in the picture below. The room is perfect for the a family to get together and spend some moments while enjoying their dinner and the lighting, flooring, furniture and atmosphere is just awesome. I chose the color pink for the walls as a dining room is said to be a place where a family not only gets together for food but they also exchange their day's experiences and exchange their thoughts and views with each other. Pink is a color of sweetness, cuteness and tenderness and these qualities are not only associated with females but males as well. When a family comes together, there are so many things that they need to share whether bitter memories or sweet memories and pink is a color of joy that makes their togethers stay fresh and alive in their hearts. A perfect color for a perfect room.

2. My dream main hall can be seen in the picture below. The room has been designed beautifully and the feel and look of it is just perfect. It has a very good placement with regards to the furniture and the lighting as well brings in a lot of life and comfortness. I have chosen the color of the walls as green as green symbolizes growth, freshness and safety that exists in a family and among family members. Green makes the environment heavenly and peaceful as it represents nature. Especially on weekends, me and my family sit in the hall and watch TV shows or movies for hours and we rest on the couch and keep enjoying ourselves. We only get weekends to spend time with each other for hours and the paint of the room will just add to this moment making it feel calm and peaceful. We also calculate our finances and wealth in the main hall together and hence green paint goes well with this. It matches our personalities as well as we share almost everything with each other and there is a main fact that makes us bond so well with each other.

SachchiAdvice - Taking an Important Step in Life

It was the year 2010 when I had got an opportunity to stay overseas for a year. I was quite confused at that point of time as I had to leave my kids and my family for a year and the feeling of being lonely in a new country was a big fear for me. The company would arrange a house as well as would take care of my expenses and rent but the main concern for me was that I would not only be away from my family but the feeling of coming back from office and being alone was something I wasn't happy about. My company had even offered me a good package and my wife was convinced about my trip for a year. It was only me who was hesitant to take up this opportunity.

It was one day when my boss came up to me and told me to talk to him for sometime. I had a small unofficial meeting with him and we discussed about what problems and issues I would face if I had taken up this opportunity. He was very polite while talking to me and it was the first time I felt he was a friend rather than my boss. He made me comfortable and addressed each and every concern of mine making me feel totally convinced about my trip for a year. I was surprised to interact with him as what concerns my own family could not manage to make me feel free of, my boss who was a third person in my life managed to do and that too in just an hour.

After our meeting, the next day I submitted my documents and got my Visa in about a month. I then worked overseas for 18 months (6 months extension) and received a good pay for my time. It was really the best days of my life and I am glad I did take the advice of my boss and it is all because of him I could experience the moments of learning and working with foreign clients and get to know about the way they work.

SachchiAdvice - Fathers Forever

My father was the purest and the most genuine person in my life and he was a man of principles. It was because of him, I am the person I am today and his teachings are always loved and cherished by me. There was many moments in my life that I spent with him and kept absorbing his words and their meanings and for me he was a bundle of knowledge and intelligence.

There was a time in my college where I flunked in one paper and was very upset and angry on my self. I kept blaming myself as I did not concentrate a lot on my studies at that time and was unable to grasp the things explained during the lectures. The subject was MATHS which was I was very weak at and I couldn't take tuitions as we couldn't afford it. It was then when my father noticed my behavior had changed and I had become silent. He came up to me and told me to not take too much stress as he was aware I was weak in the subject and hence the result was negative.

After that day, my father kept motivating me and spent hours at night making me learn the notes he had borrowed from the professor of my college. He couldn't explain to me the same but he kept advising me that I should never lose hope in my life and there is no subject that is beyond my understanding. He knew I had a fear for numbers and hence he used to keep encouraging me that I should either be ready to face these challenges of life or run away from them which would make me a coward. I understood the meaning of his words and then made friends with those numbers that used to be my enemies earlier. It was because of his encouragement and advise that I got a first class in the same subject and my FATHER was proud that I was his son and I was proud to have a FATHER like him.

This was the most memorable experience of my life and my father was the man who gave me the Sachchi advise because of which I always love facing challenges and not run away from them.
